Jesus is Baptized

Read: Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:1-12, Luke 3:1-22

10 As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 11 And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

Mark 1:10–11 (NIV84)

Today’s Journey:

Go to the water’s edge, by a lake, canal, or better yet a beach. You can wade in if you like. Pause for a moment and reflect on this story. What would it have been like to hear the voice from heaven? How important is it to know the Father’s love and approval? The Holy Spirit (in the form of a dove rested on Jesus. What does it mean for the Holy Spirit to rest on a person?

Write down your reflections and prayers.
